Love, Robot & Paris - Rain
I already talked about this song on my main blog a while ago, but I thought I could talk about it again on this blog, because why not?
I’ve been loving L,R’s music ever since I heard about them for the first time. I can’t remember how I discovered them — I always thought a friend of mine had told me about their music, but when I asked her if she already knew their new song she didn’t even know what band I was talking about, so I guess it wasn’t her who introduced me to L,R.
For their new song “Rain” L,R collaborated with an alternative rock band from Boston/ Massachusetts called Paris. The song is is a great piece of alternative rock and (in my opinion) definitely a little more rockish than what you might be used to by female-fronted alternative rock bands such as the ever so famous Paramore (I’m gonna be honest with you, I don’t like Paramore too much).
I love how the voices of Alexa San Roman (Love, Robot's vocalist and guitarist) and Lynn Gunnulfsen (vocalist and guitarist of Paris) go together and Sean Murphy’s vocals during the bridge are a nice contrast to the two female singer’s voices. When I listened to the song for the first time I was rather surprised when the bridge started. I mean, I knew the song would have a bridge (most songs do, right?) but I didn’t expect it to be like this. It was unexpected, and I like unexpected things. They’re cool.
Something that really got stuck in my head is the drums: I don’t even really know why, but the drums are kind of catchy and, well, just great.
It’s an amazing song. Give it a listen, you’ll see what I’m talking about.
